West Reading Police invite residents to celebrate National Night Out at West Reading Park

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, and more caring places to live.

On Tuesday, August 3, 20201, West Reading Borough Police will host their own National Night Out event at West Reading Park/ Track & Field, located at 505 Sycamore Road.

The event will run from 5-8pm and will include free food and giveaways, including a children’s bicycle raffle and backpacks.

Along with West Reading Police Officers, West Reading Chief Glenn Grantiz Jr. has also invited the West Reading Fire Department to attend. Residents will be able to meet first responders and have a up-close look at police cars, fire trucks, and ambulances. In addition, West Reading’s own K9 Zea will be conducting Police K9 demonstration.

“Come out and meet Officers from WRPD as well as members of the Fire Department” says Chief Granitz.

“Various Borough Departments will be involved and the events include a K9 demonstration, various vehicles to see and climb into, free food giveaways, DJ, dunk tank, games, prizes and bike raffles.”
