The Reading Public Museum Foundation recently announced that five new members have been appointed to the Board of Directors.
Dr. Anna Weitz, Board Chair of the Foundation for the Reading Public Museum stated, “We welcome these highly-qualified additions to our Board, and honor the guidance and support of the retiring members, as well. These important elections build on the Foundation’s commitment to fulfill our fiduciary responsibility to serve all parts of our diverse community.”
English Bradley is a lifelong Berks County resident and Reading High School graduate and currently is the Acting Director of Berks Community Television (BCTV). She has over ten years of experience in marketing, sales, high-end customer service, full-cycle recruiting and administration. English is passionate about managing and shifting culture in organizations and communities.
Daniel B. Laws, Jr., another graduate of Reading High School, is the founder, President, CEO, and thought leader of DaBrian Marketing, one of the top digital agencies in the region. He provides marketing services to some of the top companies in the United States, Canada, and Europe. An active member of this community, Daniel serves on several boards in the greater Reading Area, and is a sought-after speaker by organizations across the country on topics related to sales, digital marketing and analytics.
O. Christopher Miller has called Berks County home for more than 40 years. He has supported the history and culture of Reading by serving on the boards of The Berks History Center, Centre Park Historic District, Architectural Review Board for the City of Reading, WCR Center for the Arts, Yocum Institute for Arts Education, and the Reading Rotary Club. Chris was appointed to the City’s District 6 Council position in August 2002. Earlier in his career, he was an Exhibit Designer for the Reading Public Museum.
Dave Meyers is the Director of the Berks Alliance, a collaboration of the anchor institutions of Berks County. Prior to this role, was the founding Director of the O’Pake Institute for Ethics, Leadership and Public Service at Alvernia University. He also was Vice Chair of BCTV and served on boards of the Reading School District and the Reading Muhlenberg Career & Technology Center. Dave served as Chief of Staff and Secretary of the Board at Bucknell University, and has held several leadership positons in the Pennsylvania state government, including Deputy Chief of Staff and Special Assistant for two of Pennsylvania’s State Governors.
Ron Pook was for many years a full-time antique dealer. At the request of several museums who had used his auction venue to deaccession material, he and his wife, Debra, in 1984 started Pook and Pook, Inc., Auctioneers and Appraisers located in Downingtown, PA. They live in a restored farmhouse in the Oley Valley, and are active collectors of Pennsylvania German art and material. Ron has previously served on the Reading Public Museum Foundation from 2012 to 2017.
The RPM Foundation also recognized board members who are retiring: Debra Pook after completing her second three-year term, and C. Jack Lusch, who has served multiple terms and leadership capacities since 2013. They also thank Dr. Seth Rosenzweig, who is renewing for his second three-year term, and is currently serving as Secretary and member of the Executive Committee.
The RPM Foundation is an independent non-profit (501(c)(3) organization established in 1991 to operate and manage the Reading Public Museum and its environs, including the Neag Planetarium and 25-acre Arboretum. The mission of the Reading Public Museum, a dynamic center of lifelong learning, is to collect, preserve, and interpret objects of art, science, and civilization in order to educate, enlighten, and engage current and future generations.
