PennDOT maintenance forces and private contractors are consistently working on roads in Berks County. To help our readers avoid travel delays, here are a few of the most notable roadwork projects scheduled next week.
Road crews will work on Interstate 78 in Windsor and Greenwich Townships between Exit 30 (Hamburg) and Exit 35 (PA 143) on April 24, 2021. An Eastbound lane restriction for construction work will begin at night from 7pm to 6am.
Bridge repair is scheduled for US 222 in Maiden Creek Township between Dries Road and Lake Shore Drive beginning on April 23-24, 2021 from 7pm to 6am. There will be several short-term (10 min) traffic stoppages for bridge beam placement. There will also be lane restriction during this time. This work is part of the ongoing US 222 Intersection Improvement project.
Bridge repair is scheduled for Muhlenberg Township between PA 183 and Business Route 222 beginning April 14-16, 2021. A lane restriction is planned at night for both directions from 8pm to 6am.
Road crews will work on PA 12 between Spring Valley Road and PA 61 beginning April 18-23, 2021. Various lane restrictions will be in place on the eastbound direction, beginning 9pm to 3pm.
PennDOT Maintenance Forces have scheduled bridge repair on Belleman’s Church Road in Ontelaunee Township between Shoemaker Avenue/Pottsville Pike and Centerport Road beginning April 21-22, 2021. A daytime lane restriction with flagging will take place from 8am to 4pm.
PennDOT Maintenance Forces have scheduled bridge repair on Wall Street in Leesport Borough between Cross Keys Road and Centre Avenue/Pottsville Pike on April 23, 2021. A daytime lane restriction with flagging will take place from 8am to 4pm.
PennDOT Maintenance Forces will preform brush cutting on PA 345 in Douglass Township between E. Main Street and Benjamin Franklin Highway on April 19, 2021. A daytime lane restriction with flagging will take place from 7am to 3pm.
Litter removal crews will work on US 422 in Robeson Township between Interstate 176 and Van Reed Road on April 20, 2021. A daytime lane restriction with flagging will take place from 7am to 3pm.
