Utility relocation work, shoulder work: PennDOT upcoming roadwork Apr. 1, 2024

PennDOT maintenance forces and private contractors have scheduled several construction projects in Berks County this week. To help our readers avoid travel delays, here are a few of the most notable projects.

In Ruscombmanor Township, lane restrictions are in place at the intersection of PA 12 and PA 73 for utility relocation work. The restrictions are effective from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM starting from April 2nd to April 5th. Rain is not expected to cause delays.

In Upper Tulpehocken Township, shoulder work is being conducted on Interstate 78 between the Lebanon County Line and Exit 23 (Shartlesville) for brush cutting. The work zone is active from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, also starting on April 2nd with possible delays due to rain.

Similarly, in Upper Tulpehocken Township, brush cutting work is underway on PA 501 between the Schuylkill County Line and Schubert Road. Lane restrictions are in effect eastbound from April 5th, also from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with possible delays in rainy conditions.

In Tilden Township, shoulder work for brush cutting is occurring on Interstate 78 between Exit 30 (Hamburg) and Exit 35 (PA 143), eastbound. The restrictions are in place from April 2nd to April 4th, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with potential rain delays.

Lane restrictions are implemented in both directions with flagging on PA 143 / Willow Street in Albany Township for unspecified work. Expect delays from April 5th, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with potential rain delays.

In Bethel Township, sweeping work is causing lane restrictions southbound on PA 61 between the Schuylkill County Line and Tuckerton Road from April 2nd to April 5th, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with potential rain delays.

Drainage work is causing lane restrictions with flagging on PA 501 / Lancaster Avenue in Bethel Township between the Lebanon County Line and Schuylkill County Line, as well as on PA 645 / Camp Swatara Road and PA 645 / Shartlesville Road, from April 2nd to April 5th, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with potential rain delays.

On various stretches of US 422 in Berks County, including between Lebanon County Line and Montgomery County Line, and between Penn Avenue and Lancaster Avenue, lane restrictions are in place for brush cutting and bridge repair work from April 2nd to April 5th, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with potential rain delays.

Finally, in Spring Township, shoulder work is being conducted on US 222 between PA 724 / Philadelphia Avenue and PA 568 / Green Hills Road from April 2nd to April 4th, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with potential rain delays.

In Cumru Township, no specific restrictions are noted for shoulder work on Interstate 176 between Exit 11 (US 422) and Exit 10 (PA 724) from April 5th, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with potential rain delays.
