Flood Advisory Issued for Southeastern Berks County

8/23/20 8:30pm – The National Weather Service has extended the Flood Advisory until 10:45pm.

8/23/20 – The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a Flood Advisory for Southeastern Berks County in eastern Pennsylvania until 7:45pm.

At 4:39pm, doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to one and one-half inches of rain have already fallen.

Some locations that could experience flooding include: Reading, Wyomissing, Birdsboro, Sinking Spring, Laureldale, Elverson, New Morgan, Cedarville, Shillington, West Reading, Mount Penn, Mohnton, Kenhorst, St. Lawrence, Wyomissing Hills, West Lawn, Lorane, Reiffton, Amity Gardens and West Wyomissing.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
