Severe Storms Lead to Small Hail, Flash Flooding in Berks

Monday severe weather brought much need rain and cooler temperatures to the region.

The Boyertown and Wernersville areas were hit with small hail and heavy rain mid afternoon. Soon after, storms moved in across the county dumping as much as 2 inches of rain.

Localized flooding was reported in Muhlenberg on the 3000 block of 5th street highway and the Spring Street Subway in Reading. Three cars were caught in the flash flooding in Muhlenberg and an SUV was submerged in Reading.

A Flood Advisory is in effect until 9:15pm. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect for Berks County until 11pm.

Looking ahead, temperatures will continue in the 90’s this week.
