Winter Storm Watch for Berks County, 2 to 4 Inches of snow expected

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Berks County, effective from late Monday night, February 12, 2024, through Tuesday afternoon. The alert warns of heavy snowfall with total accumulations of 2 to 4 inches possible, accompanied by gusty winds reaching up to 35 mph.

The alert extends beyond Pennsylvania, covering Hunterdon County in New Jersey, as well as Upper Bucks County in Pennsylvania. Residents in these areas are advised to prepare for potentially hazardous road conditions, with slippery surfaces likely to affect both morning and evening commutes.

The forecast suggests that while heavy snow is expected, there is uncertainty regarding whether snowfall totals. If subsequent forecasts indicate that snow accumulations are not likely to reach Warning criteria, the Winter Storm Watch may be downgraded to a Winter Weather Advisory.

With the possibility of significant snowfall and strong winds, residents are urged to stay informed about the evolving weather conditions and to exercise caution while traveling.
