Muhlenberg Township is bringing back its popular Haunted Hollow event at Jim Dietrich Park this October, transforming the park along the river into a spooky seasonal destination. The event runs from Friday, October 10, through Sunday, October 12, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. each evening.
Visitors can expect thrills and scares with a haunted hayride weaving through the park and a barn turned into a “freak show,” where organizers say guests never know what—or who—they might encounter. “Beware, this event is not for the weak of heart,” organizers cautioned, adding that all attractions are “enter at your own risk” for plenty of fun.
Tickets are $12 for either the hayride or barn, or $20 for a combo ticket. Sales are cashless this year and can be made online at muhlenbergtwp.com or at the event. Organizers remind parents not to drop children off with cash to buy admission. Food vendors will be on-site and will accept cash, and the evening will also include a DJ and fun games area.
In addition to the nighttime scares, Muhlenberg Township is hosting a Fall Family Fun Fest on Saturday, October 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The daytime event will feature family-friendly activities such as traditional hayrides, pumpkin painting, carnival games, and magic shows by Rich Gerber. Food vendors will also be available.
Jim Dietrich Park, located at 4899 Stoudts Ferry Bridge Road in Reading, is also the home of RiverFest. For more information, call the Muhlenberg Township office at 610-929-4727, visit muhlenbergtwp.com, or check out the township’s Facebook page at Facebook.com/mtparks.
