Book lovers will have five days to browse thousands of gently used books, movies, music and more when the Berks Book Bonanza returns to the County of Berks South Campus in July.
The annual fundraiser will be held July 8-12 at 400 E. Wyomissing Ave. in Mohnton, offering shoppers a wide selection of donated books, DVDs, CDs, vinyl records, puzzles and other items. Most items will be priced at $2 or less, while specialty materials and collectible books will be individually marked.
Organizers said they are building on the success of last year’s sale, which generated significant support for local libraries and scholarships.
“Berks Book Bonanza was able to provide $80,000 in 2025,” said Judy Ellsworth, vice president of Berks Book Bonanza. “To double our contributions compared with the 2024 mini-sale is amazing, and we’re looking forward to see what 2026 yields.”
The sale will begin with an Early Bird shopping day on Wednesday, July 8, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission that day is $20. Regular sale hours will be held Thursday, July 9, through Saturday, July 11, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day. The event will conclude Sunday, July 12, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a $5 bag-of-books sale.
A holding area will be available on the opening day of the sale, and volunteers will assist shoppers with transporting large purchases. Organizers noted that carts will not be permitted inside the building.
All purchases must be made with cash or check, as no ATMs will be available on site. Identification is required for check purchases.
The sale entrance is located behind the building near the covered ramp, and volunteers will continue restocking merchandise throughout the event.
Proceeds from the fundraiser benefit the Friends of Berks County Public Libraries and the Reading Branch of the American Association of University Women. The organizations use the funds to support local libraries and provide scholarships for women.
