Celebrating their 66th year, the annual Apple Dumpling Festival and Pageant is back this week at Willow Glen Park in Sinking Spring. The Festival features a midway with amusement rides, games, delicious food, music, entertainment, craft and local business vendors, and of course thousands of home made apple dumplings!
Open May 28th to June 1st, the festival’s Pageant is held nightly featuring girls competing for Little Miss Apple Dumpling, Junior Miss Apple Dumpling, Teen Miss Apple Dumpling, and Miss Apple Dumpling.
Spend the night out with the family. In the theme of the old time county fairs the festival will also host a variety of fun contests including Watermelon Seed Spitting Contests, Pie Eating Contests and of course Apple Dumpling Eating Contests.
What’s on the menu? From to a variety of menu options in the Konopelski Katering Food Court to Apple Dumplings hot out of the ovens, menu items include Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Ribs, Brisket, Burgers, Fish Tacos, Cinnamon Rolls, Pierogies, Smoked Turkey Legs, Fresh Cut French Fries, Loaded Baked Potatoes, Funnel Cakes, plus much more.

- Tuesday: Morgan Konopelski
- Wednesday: Chuck Cahoe
- Thursday: Band: The Party featuring Morgan Konopelski
- Friday: Band: Firestorm
- Saturday: Dave Mell Blues Band, Rockman Blues Band
In addition, the Apple Dumpling Festival will also host the Berks, Blues, Brews, and BBQ Festival Saturday June 1st from noon to 10pm. It will feature Blues Bands, authentic local Microbrews, and Barbecued Ribs, Pork, Chicken and Brisket along with all the fixens’. Best of all, admission is free! Micro Brews include: Weyerbacher, Sly Fox, Stable 12, St. Boniface along with Miller lite and Yuengling Lager. Entertainment: Dave Mell Blues Band, Rockman Blues Band
The Apple Dumpling Festival is held at Willow Glen Park on Rt. 422, West of Reading at 94 Park Ave. Sinking Spring. Admission and parking is free. Hours: Mon – Wed: 5:30 – 10pm, Thur – Fri 5:30 – 11pm, Sat 3 – 10pm.
