The City of Reading held its annual blessing at the Menorah and lighting of the Christmas Tree for Thursday evening at the corner of 5th & Penn Streets.
The Holiday Lighting Celebration began with a moment of honor of the Jewish community. A small crowd gathered in front of the Santander building as the Jewish Federation shared a blessing at the Menorah in commemoration of Hanukkah.

Soon after, the crowd was invited to the other side of the street for the ceremonial lighting of the Christmas Tree.
This year’s presentation included a holiday sing-a-long led by the Reading High School Vocal Company and its more than a dozen members, a dance performance from the Reading Recreation Commission, and special holiday messages delivered by local leaders.
