Albright College has announced the official start of construction on its long-anticipated library renovation project, with completion expected by the end of 2025. Demolition work is already underway as the College breathes new life into one of its most iconic and centrally located campus landmarks.
When it reopens next academic year, the newly renovated facility will be home to the Gingrich Library alongside expanded student support services, including a writing and tutoring center and student disability services. This transformation underscores Albright’s deep commitment to enhancing the student experience by providing state-of-the-art spaces, essential resources, and supportive services that empower students to thrive.
“This is a thrilling moment for Albright College,” says Debra M. Townsley, Ph.D., President of Albright College. “We are reimagining the heart of our campus to better serve our students today and for generations to come. With this renovation, we are creating a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive environment where every student has the tools and resources to succeed.”
The comprehensive project includes full renovations of the lower level, ground floor, and the second-floor library area. The third and fourth floors will remain unfinished, preserving flexibility for future opportunities and campus needs. The building’s exterior will also receive an upgrade, featuring refreshed landscaping and improved outdoor spaces that complement the revitalized facility
The opening of the renovated library is planned for the next academic year, and the College looks forward to celebrating this exciting milestone with the Albright community.
