City officials celebrate re-opening of Schlegel Park Pool following two-year closure

City officials gathered in Schlegel Park Friday morning for the reopening of the Pool, which has been closed for the past two years due to the pandemic and construction.

Schlegel Park Pool is one of the largest public pools in Berks County offering daily or seasonal passes. Amenities include a large recreational pool, volleyball court, basketball court, pavilion, picnic tables, benches and concession stand.

In addition to repairing the pool, a new splash pad has been installed on the property with a Reading Railroad theme. Unfortunately, due to supply chain issues, the splash pad is still under construction, but is expected to be operational soon.

The pool, which is located at 299 North Carroll Street in Reading, is set to open for Memorial Day weekend on May 28-30, from 12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
