Girls on the Run Berks to celebrate season of new friendships, inner power at Spring 5K

Girls on the Run Berks will celebrate the Limitless Potential of almost 500 girls on Saturday, May 21 at a 5K celebration at Penn State Berks. Joined by their Running Buddies and community runners, the girls will celebrate a season of new friendships, inner power and continued resilience.

“We anticipate almost 800 participants at the Spring 5K,” Executive Director Kirsten Haas explains, “which is just about where we would have been in Spring 2020 had the COVID-19 pandemic not shut down the season.”

Haas continues, “It goes without saying that we are over the moon about having so many girls participate this Spring and we can’t wait to celebrate with them in May!”

The 5K celebration will be at Penn State Berks from 7:30 – 11:30 AM; participants cross the start line around 9:00 AM. Before the 5K, participants can visit with GOTR Berks supporters in the Partner Park, get pumped up with tunes from D.J. Ben and grab a pre-event coffee or snack from the food trucks.

Registration for the event is open now at GOTR Berks Spring 2022 5K Registration. The event is open to the public and all proceeds from the event benefit Girls on the Run of Berks County.
