Berks Free Medical Clinic, Robesonia, and Reading, has announced the addition of a Physical Medicine Clinic for adult patients without health insurance coverage. The Physical Medicine Clinic will be held in the Berks Free Medical Clinic’s Reading clinic, located in Mary’s Shelter on Kenhorst Blvd. on the fourth Thursday of the month from 9:30 AM until 12:30 PM, by appointment only.
Physical medicine is the treatment of patient issues with their muscles and skeleton, or “aches and pains” according to Dr. Paul Brockman, who is volunteering to staff the clinic. Any patient that requires follow-up physical therapy will be referred to Alvernia University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy’s free physical therapy clinic held in the Berks Community Health Center’s Liggett Avenue facility.
“I believe all people deserve the right to medical care. Some do not have insurance and need access to care so that they can avoid bad and expense of health problems. My focus is on helping people that have neuromuscular and skeletal problems regain their, independent function, quality of life,” said Dr. Brockman when asked why he was volunteering his services to the clinic.
“Our vision is to Improve the overall health of our patients through expanded services. We look forward to meeting our patients’ needs through the care provided by the Physical Medicine Clinic.” stated Cheryl Moody, president of the clinic’s board of directors.
