The Salvation Army Reading Citadel Corps announced the appointment of Lieutenants Hector Cid and Melissa Lopez as City Coordinators of Reading and Lieutenant Hyesoo Kim as Corps Officer/Pastor at the Reading Citadel Corps.
In their new positions as City Coordinators of Reading, Lts. Hector Cid and Melissa Lopez will oversee the activities and operations of the Corps and be responsible for leading the Spanish congregation.
The married couple has over 20 years of experience leading and serving local churches in the ministry area and community volunteering. Previously, they served as Corps Officers of the Reading Temple Corps.
“I stand humbled by the chance to continue serving the Reading community and working alongside my dedicated colleagues to make a positive impact,” Lt. Cid said. “Building on the progress we made as Corps Officers, we will continue to work hand in hand to instill hope in all those in need throughout Reading.”
“I am incredibly grateful and thrilled to embrace my new role as City Coordinator at The Salvation Army in Reading,” Lt. Lopez said. “It is a privilege to have the opportunity to serve this wonderful community, and my utmost excitement lies in the prospect of collaborating closely with our devoted team and partners.”
Lt. Hyesoo Kim has also been appointed Corps Officer/Pastor at the Reading Citadel Corps. In this role, she assumes the Lts.’ previous positions by assisting and supporting the City Coordinators. Lt. Kim served previously in York Citadel Corps as an assistant Corps Officer. She brings dedication and experience from her previous role to the city of Reading. As her passion is in youth ministry, she works closely with the after-school program and enjoys teaching and building relationships with the children.
