Registration open for Girls on the Run Berks ‘Lace Up Power On!’ Virtual 5k

Registration is open for Girls on the Run of Berks County’s Spring 5K celebratory event taking place virtually from May 28 through May 31.

The “Lace Up Power On!” theme celebrates the Girls on the Run community and their resilience over the past year. As a virtual event, participants can complete the 5K on their own time and in their own place.

“A virtual 5K can be a great way for families and friends to support the GOTR program while being active and having fun,” explained Executive Director Kirsten Haas. “For Spring, we added more registration options to help with fundraising including a raffle and we added a GOTR store as well.”

Haas continues, “As we did in the Fall, we have a $5000.00 fundraising goal. 48% of our program participants receive financial assistance and the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact our ability to serve girls in the same capacity.”

Participants can choose a “Donation Only” option at registration if they want to support the event without committing to a virtual 5K.

Basic registration is $10.00/person and includes a swag bag of goodies courtesy of program sponsors and community supporters. 5K t-shirts are available for sale at registration for $20.00/each.
